After almost 7 years of hard work and being the go-to girl for everything that needed to get done at her popular North Portland shop, Sarah Pederson needed a break.
Sarah already had staff in place, but she had never hired anyone who could fill her shoes if needed. Saraveza, her bottle shop and pasty tavern, had seen continual growth and success since the doors opened in October of 2008, but the business organizational structure had not grown with it.
As the processes were beginning to function, the owners of Bunk were able to plainly see what was happening within the business, and were able to make changes. Some of the major movements have been:
Within just 7 Months of hiring Fisher Business Management, Sarah was able to take a full three weeks off from her business!
She could rest easy knowing that she had someone at her bottle shop whose only job was to make sure things ran smoothly. This was made possible by making some strategic organizational changes, cleaning up employees job descriptions, creating a job description for a General Manager, and then hiring the perfect candidate.
With a goal of obtaining more personal freedom, I was able to become less of a ‘manager’ and more of an ‘owner’ in 7 months. With Fisher’s help, this change has left my staff feeling more supported and empowered. Thanks to Barb Fisher, my business has made huge business strides in regards to structure, finances and overall morale.Sarah Pederson Owner | Saraveza Tavern
